Standard License Agreement
Digital Goods from store.rldouglas.com
Effective as of: 1 May 2026
1. Purpose of the Standard License
The Standard License is designed for all audiences and applies strictly to personal, non‑commercial use. When you place an order on this website, you are purchasing both the digital asset (the “file”) and the accompanying Standard License that governs how that file may be used.
This operates similarly to purchasing CDs, DVDs, or other physical media that include defined terms of use. All copyrights, trademarks, and logos associated with the purchased material remain the property of their respective owners. Any unauthorized reproduction, redistribution, or infringement is prohibited by law.
2. Your Rights
The Standard License for store.rldouglas.com (the “Site”) grants you perpetual private ownership of the purchased material (including but not limited to image files, music files, PDF files, and other digital assets) for personal, non‑commercial use only, for an indefinite period.
You are permitted to display the licensed material in:
- your magazine
- your website
- other lawful public media
provided that proper credit is given to the original author: Richard L. Douglas (R.L. Douglas).
3. Your Responsibilities
You must not sell, sublicense, or distribute the acquired content to third parties, nor use it for any commercial purposes. You may not modify the digital product for commercial use. You may showcase the content on your magazine, website, or other media platforms only in lawful, non-commercial ways, and only with proper credit to its original author — R.L. Douglas (Richard L. Douglas).
4. Modification Rights
You may modify the digital file only for non-commercial purposes and only in lawful use within the scope of this License and applicable international copyright laws.
5. Prohibition on Selling the File
You must not sell the digital product (file) acquired on this website. Any singular, collective, serial, or other offering of the file — including public soliciting or promotion to sell — is prohibited, even if the file has been modified.
For example: if you modify an image into your own product but its distinguishing traits remain recognizable as the work of its original author, the intellectual property of R.L. Douglas (Richard L. Douglas) remains protected.
6. Not for Distribution
Original master files (product files, author files, digital files, purchase files) on this site are the works of their author and are not for hire under the Standard License. If your business sells frames containing the author’s images, burns CDs from the author’s files, or modifies the content for sale at any price, this constitutes commercial use, which is not permitted under this License. A Commercial License is required for any business activity.
7. Standard License Restrictions
No Unlawful Use
You must not use acquired image files in any public pornographic, defamatory, or otherwise unlawful manner, or in violation of any applicable regulations or industry codes of your country or international law.
No False Representation of Authorship
You must not falsely claim ownership of the author’s files. You may not claim authorship of modified versions of the product.
No Use in Logos or Trademarks
This License does not grant commercial rights. You may not use the content (in whole or in part) as a distinctive or identifying element of a trademark, design mark, trade name, business name, service mark, or brand logo.
You may not register such content as a trademark in any jurisdiction, nor rely on prior use or goodwill to prevent others (including the author, this site, or other customers) from using similar content.
8. Intellectual Property
Copyright Ownership
All licensed copyrights on this site are owned by its creator — R.L. Douglas (Richard L. Douglas).
Content Ownership
When you acquire a digital product, you receive perpetual permission to own and possess the digital file. However, intellectual property rights remain with the author and are governed by this License and applicable copyright laws.
For non-commercial use on media platforms, you must include the author’s credit in a form such as:
[Artist Name] / [Work Name]
Video Credit Requirement
For video use, the credit must be visible to the public — placed within the video frame, narrated verbally, or included in the description area — in the form:
[Artist Name] / [Work Name]
9. Termination
Social Media Termination
If you use the content on a social media platform or third-party website, and that platform uses the content for its own purposes or in a way that violates this License, your rights for such use terminate immediately. Upon request, you must remove the content from that platform or website.
Content Withdrawal
This site may discontinue licensing any item of content at any time if a legal dispute arises. Upon notice from the site — or upon your own knowledge — that content may be subject to a third-party infringement claim, you must immediately, at your own expense:
- cease using the content,
- delete or destroy all copies (digital or physical), and
- ensure that your clients, distributors, and/or employer do the same.
10. Authorship Assurance
Are all works created by the author?
YES. All works on this website are created by R.L. Douglas without any use of AI. Every painting, photo, book, and music composition is made by the human author.
11. Updated and Prioritized Terms
The license terms on store.rldouglas.com are the most updated and prioritized version of our licensing policy. In the event of any conflict between these website terms and any license text included in a product download, the website version shall take precedence.
12. License Version at Time of Purchase
Your use of any digital product is governed by the version of the license that was in effect on the date of your purchase. If the license terms are updated after your purchase, the updated terms apply only to future purchases. You may refer to the license version included in your product download as the snapshot of the terms active at the time of your transaction.
